UEFA Nations League in Morocco: bets on the 2026/27 season

The UEFA Nations League is the UEFA competition that replaced most friendly internationals in Europe. Fifty-four national teams take part, sorted into four leagues from A to D, and each league plays home-and-away groups. The trophy is contested only in League A, while the same tables decide who moves up or down a tier for the next edition. The tournament is held every two years: 2026/27 is the fifth edition, after those decided in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025.

Portugal holds the title ⚽ The wins of 2019 and June 2025 make the Portuguese the only nation with two Nations League trophies. Spain, beaten in that last final, starts the new season alongside the holders in League A, where sixteen teams fight for four places at the Finals of June 2027.

Format of the 2026/27 season and the road to the final

League A is split into four groups of four. Each team plays six matches, home and away against its three group opponents, in two windows, one in September and October and one in November. The draw was held in Brussels on 12 February 2026 and produced the following groups.

A1

France, Italy, Belgium, Turkey

A2

Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, Greece

A3

Spain, Croatia, England, Czechia

A4

Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Wales

The group winners and runners-up move on to the quarter-finals, a round introduced in 2024/25: group winners against runners-up, two legs, played between 25 and 30 March 2027. The four winners then meet at the Nations League Finals from 9 to 13 June 2027, at a venue that has not been named yet.

Relegation to League B is settled on the same tables, so the November matchdays carry weight at both ends of every group. The holders in A4 and the beaten finalists in A3 are under the same pressure as everyone else: a poor autumn ends the title run and can drop a former champion out of the top tier.

Calendar for Morocco: matchdays and kick-off times 📅

The opening window is packed. Eight matches fill 24, 25 and 26 September, matchday 2 follows from 27 to 29 September, matchday 3 from 1 to 3 October and matchday 4 from 4 to 6 October. The November window closes the groups: matchday 5 on 12, 13 and 14 November, matchday 6 on 15, 16 and 17 November.

Most games kick off at 20:45 CET and a handful at 18:00 CET. Morocco keeps the same clock all year while Europe runs on summer time in September and October, so a 20:45 CET start is 19:45 in Morocco on the autumn dates and 20:45 in November, while the 18:00 CET games shift the same way, to 17:00 and then 18:00.

All of these start at 20:45 CET. Belgium and France meet on 28 September and again on 5 October, England – Spain sits on the opening matchday of group A3 and the return fixture on 15 November on its final one. Once the whistle goes, each of these games is also on the live football section, where the markets stay open while the match is running.

The Moroccan angle: no national team, familiar faces 🇲🇦

Morocco cannot enter: the Nations League is reserved for UEFA member federations, so only European sides play. Interest in the country still runs high. France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy are home to large Moroccan communities, their matches are followed here almost like home games, and all five are in League A this season. France, Italy and Belgium even share group A1, which makes that group the one to watch from Morocco.

Lamine Yamal is the closest link to a Moroccan flag on the pitch. The Spain international, whose father is Moroccan, played the 2025 Finals in Germany and scored twice there, the same tally as Mbappé and Cristiano Ronaldo across that Final Four. Beyond the two England dates in the table above, Spain's group A3 programme has Croatia on 29 September and 6 October and Czechia on 3 October and 12 November. Every one of those dates, together with the rest of the tournament, sits in the Football section of the pre-match line.

Every group match gets its own pre-match page, listed well ahead of kick-off, with the standard football markets: match result (1X2), double chance, total goals, both teams to score, handicaps, correct score and half-time/full-time. The quarter-finals and the Finals join the line once the pairings are known.

For a position held over the whole autumn rather than one evening, the outright section lists the tournament winner and the winner of each group. The Nations League page itself sits inside the full pre-match sports line, next to every other competition on the programme.

Accounts in Morocco are kept in dirhams (MAD), and deposits run through CIH Bank, Attijari (L'bankalik), Al Barid Bank or Cash Plus. Newcomers can open an account with 1xBet before the group stage starts.

How the 2025 Finals ended

The last Final Four was staged in Germany from 4 to 8 June 2025, split between Munich and Stuttgart. Portugal beat the hosts 2:1 in Munich on 4 June, Spain got past France 5:4 in Stuttgart on 5 June, and France then beat Germany in the third-place match on 8 June.

The final in Munich on 8 June went to extra time at 2:2. Zubimendi put Spain ahead in the 21st minute, Nuno Mendes replied in the 26th, Oyarzabal restored the lead on 45 minutes and Cristiano Ronaldo levelled in the 61st. Portugal won the shoot-out 5:3.

In June 2027 the closing stage keeps the same shape: two semi-finals, a third-place match and the final. The host is picked by the UEFA Executive Committee after the quarter-finals, preferably from the four qualified nations. Until then the 1xBet Morocco home page carries the day's programme across every sport, Nations League evenings included.

Nations League 2026/27: questions from Morocco

How do promotion and relegation work in League A this season?

The team that finishes fourth in each League A group goes straight down to League B. Third place is not safe either: it goes into a two-legged play-out against a League B runner-up between 25 and 30 March 2027, and the loser plays in League B next time. The four League B group winners are promoted in their place.

Who has won the Nations League before?

Four editions, three different winners. Portugal took the first title in 2019 against the Netherlands, France won in 2021 against Spain, Spain beat Croatia in the 2023 final, and Portugal lifted the trophy again in 2025 after a penalty shoot-out against Spain. Spain has reached three of the four finals so far.

Which teams are new to League A in 2026/27?

Six sides came up after the 2024/25 season. England, Czechia, Norway and Wales won their League B groups, while Greece and Turkey went through the play-outs of March 2025. They replaced Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Scotland and Switzerland, who all dropped to League B.

Who were the top scorer and the best player of the last edition?

Cristiano Ronaldo finished the 2024/25 edition as top scorer with 8 goals. At the Finals in Germany the award for best player went to Nuno Mendes, the Portugal player who also scored in the final against Spain.
