Cricket betting in Morocco: formats, leagues and settlement rules
Cricket is played between two sides of 11 players, one of whom is the captain. The ball is bowled in overs of six valid deliveries; a No ball or a Wide does not count towards the six. Before play the captains toss a coin, and the side that wins the toss chooses whether to bat or to field first. The sides bat in turn, and an innings closes once the batting side is all out, once it has no batter left to come in, or once its captain declares. Cricket and Morocco: a 2002 tournament in Tangier
Top-level cricket made its first visit to Morocco in 2002. From 12 to 21 August 2002, Tangier's purpose-built National Cricket Stadium hosted the Morocco Cup, a one-day tournament for Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka; seven matches were played, and Wisden Cricketers' Almanack recorded it as north Africa's first top-level cricket tournament. Morocco's cricket federation belonged to the ICC from 1999 to 2019; in July 2019 the ICC Board expelled it for failing to meet the membership criteria, and the country does not appear among the ICC's African members today. For a reader in Morocco, then, the cricket on this page is international cricket, backed from an account kept in Moroccan dirhams (MAD).
Three formats and the ways a match can end
The site's betting rules, in their Cricket section (10.17), describe the formats by how long they take: three and a half hours on average for a Twenty20 International, over eight hours for a One Day International, and up to five days for a Test Match with at least 90 overs a day, each side batting twice. The ICC Playing Conditions supply the detail.
Test: five scheduled days, two innings for each side. The match is a Tie when every innings is complete and the scores are level, and a Draw when time runs out without a decision.
ODI: one innings per side of up to 50 overs. Both sides must have had the chance to bat for at least 20 overs for a result, otherwise the match is a No Result; level scores send the game to a Super Over, and to further Super Overs until one side wins.
T20I: one innings per side of up to 20 overs, with a minimum of five overs each for a result. Level scores again mean a Super Over: each side faces six balls, the second wicket ends its innings, and more runs wins regardless of wickets lost.
When weather cuts into a limited-overs match, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method (DLS), adopted by the ICC, sets a revised target for the chasing side; the target is a whole number, and finishing one run short counts as a Tie.

Two general rules from the same document apply to cricket totals and handicaps: if the final figure lands exactly on the quoted total, Over and Under are both returned at odds of 1, and a draw once the handicap has been applied also goes to odds of 1. A match decided by DLS is an official result like any other, so the match bet stands; the statistical markets follow their own conditions, among them the 80% and 50% thresholds above, the 200-over minimum for a drawn Test and the voiding of a first-overs bet when those overs are not bowled. The 80% is measured against the scheduled overs: in a full-length match, for example, fewer than 40 overs out of 50 in an ODI, or 16 out of 20 in a T20, cancels the statistics.
Leagues and series in the line this season
Groups in the cricket line come and go with the calendar; with the 2026/27 season under way, these are the ones worth knowing. The UAE's International League T20 is a franchise competition in the United Arab Emirates: season five runs from 22 November to 20 December 2026, six teams playing 34 matches, and the Dubai International Stadium hosting the final. India's Ranji Trophy is first-class cricket, two innings a side over several days, contested by 32 Elite teams split into four groups, plus a six-team Plate tier; the BCCI has split it into phase one (11 October to 5 November 2026), phase two (17 January to 4 February 2027) and a knockout stage between 9 February and 3 March 2027. Bets on a Test series as a whole, the series winner, a series handicap or the exact series score rather than a single match, are gathered in the Test series group. Cricket World Cup League 2 is an eight-team ODI league of 144 matches, arranged as 24 tri-series with six games in each; its top four go straight to the World Cup Qualifier and the bottom four to the Qualifier Play-off, on the road to the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia (2 October to 21 November 2027, 14 teams, final in Johannesburg).
The franchise T20 leagues enter the line when their seasons open; the dates below are those announced for 2026/27. Australia's Big Bash League plays its sixteenth season, 44 matches, from 12 December 2026 to 26 January 2027. South Africa's SA20 holds its fifth season from 17 January to 21 February 2027 with six teams. The Pakistan Super League's twelfth edition, eight franchises, is set for 18 March to 2 May 2027. The Indian Premier League (IPL), with ten franchises, is played in spring. The 2028 T20 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will have 20 teams, and the next men's Ashes series, five Tests in England, runs from 18 June to 2 August 2027.
Markets on a match card, in Line and in Live
A cricket match card opens with 1X2: W1 for the side listed first, X for the draw, W2 for the second side. Next come Team To Win The Toss, the combined The Toss/The Match, the two-way Team Wins and the match Total of runs in Over/Under form, often at several lines; some cards add a team's Total Runs over its first two to ten overs. The rules also define player markets such as a team's Top Batsman (most runs, Super Over excluded), Best Bowler (most wickets in an innings), Runs At Fall Of Wicket and Race to 10 runs.
