Football Betting Terms: 1X2, Handicap, Total, Accumulator
A football bet comes down to a handful of words and abbreviations: 1X2, W1, 2X, handicap, total, IT1, accumulator, system, bet slip sale. This glossary of betting terms takes them one at a time, with the labels as they appear on the 1xBet football pages in Morocco and the settlement rules as set out in the site's terms (in particular the "Types of bets", "Available Markets (Outcomes)", "Extra bets" and "Examples" sections), as they stood on 14 October 2026. The odds in the examples are made up for the sake of the calculation: they do not come from any match.
Regular time: the period a bet covers
Unless stated otherwise, a football bet covers regular time: 90 minutes in two halves of 45 minutes, plus added time. Extra time and the penalty shoot-out only count for bets on who goes through, the tournament winner and bets of that kind. A bet marked as including extra time counts extra time but not the shoot-out, which has bets of its own.
Odds, stake, potential winnings
Odds: the number shown next to an outcome. Odds, like handicaps and totals, can change on the site; a bet that has already been placed keeps the terms in force when it was accepted.
Stake: the amount you put on the bet. 1xBet sets a minimum and a maximum stake for each event, and the stake cannot exceed your account balance, which is debited as soon as the bet is recorded.
Single: a bet on one outcome. The winnings equal the stake multiplied by the odds.
Potential winnings: what the bet slip pays out if it wins, stake included. Example: 100 MAD staked at odds of 1.85 returns 100 × 1.85 = 185 MAD, that is 85 MAD profit.
Refund (odds of 1): when a rule says a bet is settled "at odds of 1", the stake goes back to the bettor, with no win and no loss.
1X2 and double chance
The 1X2 market offers the three possible results of a match. The rules call a win for the first team "1", a draw "X" and a win for the second team "2". In the list of football matches, these outcomes are shown as W1, Draw and W2. The first team is the one named first in the fixture.
Double chance covers two of the three results with a single bet:
1X wins if the first team wins or the match ends in a draw;
12 wins if either team wins, in other words if there is no draw;
2X wins if the second team wins or the match ends in a draw.

The handicap
A handicap is a goal advantage or disadvantage that 1xBet gives a team for a particular bet. It is added to the actual score: if the adjusted result favours the team you picked, the bet wins; if not, it loses; if the adjusted result is a draw, the bet is settled at odds of 1. In the match list, the market is written as Handicap 1 (+1.5) or Handicap 2 (-1.5): the number after the word refers to the team, the one in brackets is the handicap.
Here is how four handicaps on the first team are settled, depending on the final score:
Bet | Team 1 wins 2-0 | Team 1 wins 1-0 | Draw 1-1 | Team 1 loses 0-1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Handicap 1 (-1.5) | won | lost | lost | lost |
Handicap 1 (0) | won | won | refunded | lost |
Handicap 1 (+1) | won | won | won | refunded |
Handicap 1 (+1.5) | won | won | won | won |
The rules also provide for a three-way handicap, written in square brackets, on which you back W1, X or W2. They give the example of a match that ends 2:1: with the handicap [0:1], the adjusted score becomes 2:2, so "Handicap [0:1] X" wins and "Handicap [0:1] W2" loses.
The Asian handicap
An Asian handicap on a quarter goal (0.25, 0.75, 1.25 and so on) is settled as two bets: the stake is split into two equal halves, placed on the two neighbouring lines. A bet at +1.25 is therefore made up of a bet at +1 and a bet at +1.5. Depending on the score, both halves win, one is refunded while the other wins or loses, or both lose. In the match list, the market is written, for example, as Asian Handicap 1.25 1, the last number being the team.
An example with made-up odds of 1.90 and 100 MAD on team 1 with an Asian handicap of +0.75, which means 50 MAD at +0.5 and 50 MAD at +1:
team 1 wins or draws: both halves win, 100 × 1.90 = 190 MAD;
team 1 loses by one goal: the +0.5 half loses, the +1 half is refunded, and 50 MAD goes back to the account;
team 1 loses by two goals or more: the whole bet is lost.

Total, individual total and Asian total
The total is about the number of goals in the match. You pick "over" or "under" a line: Total 3.5 O for over 3.5 goals, Total 3.5 U for under 3.5. With a whole-number line, for example 3, a match with exactly 3 goals returns the stake. The rules also cover a three-way total, labelled (3way), with "under", "exactly" and "over": in that case no stake is returned and only the exact outcome wins.
The individual total, written IT1 or IT2, only counts the goals of the first or the second team. Own goals do not count towards it.
The Asian total follows the same logic as the Asian handicap. A quarter-goal line, such as Asian Total 2.25 O, is settled as two half-stake bets, one on over 2 goals and the other on over 2.5. With made-up odds of 1.80 and 100 MAD: with 3 goals or more, both halves win (180 MAD); with 2 goals, the "over 2" half is refunded and the "over 2.5" half loses, so 50 MAD comes back; with 0 or 1 goal, the bet is lost.
Both teams to score
On 1xBet this market is called "Both Teams To Score", with Yes and No. "Yes" wins if each team scores at least one goal; "No" wins if at least one of the two teams fails to score. A match page also offers this market combined with 1X2.

Accumulator and system bets
An accumulator combines several independent outcomes on one bet slip. Their odds are multiplied together to give the overall odds, and the winnings equal the stake multiplied by those odds. A single losing outcome is enough for the whole accumulator to lose. An example with three made-up odds, 1.50, 2.00 and 1.80: the overall odds are 1.50 × 2.00 × 1.80 = 5.40, and a 50 MAD stake returns 270 MAD if all three outcomes win.
A system bet groups together every accumulator of the same size that can be built from a list of events: a 2/3 system contains the three possible two-event accumulators out of three events. The stake is split equally between those accumulators, and the system pays the sum of the winning accumulators. With 30 MAD on a 2/3 system, so 10 MAD per accumulator, and the same made-up odds:
all three outcomes win: 10 × 3.00 + 10 × 2.70 + 10 × 3.60 = 30 + 27 + 36 = 93 MAD;
only the outcomes at 1.50 and 2.00 win: one accumulator wins, 10 × 3.00 = 30 MAD;
only one outcome wins: no accumulator wins.
A system can include at most 20 events and 184,756 accumulators.
Live betting
A live bet is placed during the match, on main and additional outcomes, as a single or within an accumulator. It is valid until the end of the match. Once recorded, it can be neither cancelled nor changed.
Bet slip sale, 1xBet's version of cash-out
On 1xBet, selling a bet back before it is settled is called "Bet slip sale". The customer sells all or part of their bet and gets the money in their account straight away, without waiting for the bet slip to be settled. The sale is made from the bet history or from the "My Bets" tab of the bet slip, for singles, accumulators and system bets. The amount offered is not negotiable: you accept it or turn it down. A sale is not guaranteed for every bet; it is impossible, among other cases, when an event on the bet slip has been blocked or when the bet slip has already been settled. With "Auto sell", the customer sets in advance the amount at which the bet slip will be sold.
Install the 1xBet app to follow a bet slip live and see whether a sale is on offer.

The W1, 2X, Handicap, Total and IT1 columns can be read directly on the pre-match football page, and the same markets follow the game on the live football page. The full text of the definitions is in the "Available Markets (Outcomes)" section of the rules.
